Clarence and Peggy Shivers created the Shivers Fund at Pikes Peak Library District, with PPLD, in 1993 to help expand educational and cultural opportunities for young people to encourage tolerance and diversity. They introduced the Shivers African American Historical and Cultural Collection at PPLD and the Fund also hosts concerts and other events. 2023 marks the 30th anniversary of The Shivers Concert Series. The Spring Concert features soprano Leberta Loral, baritone James Alston, and violinist David Siegel, accompanied by pianist Susan Grace.
