About Chris Hedges

  • Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and war correspondent, commentator, author of twelve books and ordained Presbyterian minister.
  • Master of Divinity, Harvard.
  • Past freelance journalist assignments with the Washington Post, NPR, Central America Bureau Chief for the Dallas Morning News, Balkan Bureau Chief for The New York Times and columnist for the progressive web site Truthdig.
  • Part of a team of reporters for The New York Times in 2002 that won a Pulitzer Prize for the paper's coverage of global terrorism
  • Amnesty International Global Award for Human Rights Journalism.
  • Has taught at Columbia University, New York University, Princeton University, University of Toronto and in the B.A. program run by Rutgers University for men and women in the New Jersey prisons
